How Order Tracker works

What the tracker keeps track of, where its information comes from and what each status means.

Order Tracker follows every parcel your store sends out, from the moment it leaves until the money or the parcel comes back. Your team scans orders as they go out and come back, couriers send their own updates, and the tracker puts it all together so you always know what is still out there.

The dashboard: everything dispatched in the chosen dates and what happened to it.

Where the information comes from

  • Your own scans - orders logged as Dispatched or Return Received on the dashboard (scanner, camera, typing or a pasted list).
  • The courier - PostEx sends live updates (delivered, return on the way) and you can catch up from PostEx at any time. Shipment reports and CPR sheets can be uploaded too.
  • Bookings - orders booked from the Book page get their tracking number and courier automatically.

The statuses

StatusMeaning
DispatchedYou handed the parcel to the courier.
In TransitOn its way (set by itself after the transit threshold, or by the courier).
DeliveredThe customer received it.
Return ClaimedThe courier says the parcel is coming back to you.
Return ReceivedYou scanned it back in. Only your own scan sets this.
Delayed DeliveryStill not delivered after the number of days set in Order rules.
Delayed ReturnThe courier claimed a return but it has not reached you in time.
LostYou gave up on the parcel (set by hand).
TipA status only moves forward. Courier updates never overwrite something you confirmed yourself, such as a Return Received scan.
